YouTube TV expands multiview to all channels

YouTube TV has rolled out a custom multiview feature that works across every channel, not just sports. Subscribers can pull streams from any package—including NFL Sunday Ticket—to build a screen that shows a football game, the weather and a CBS drama simultaneously. The interface lives in a new “multiview builder” that lets users arrange up to four live feeds side by side today.

The tool emerged from a multi‑year test period, finally giving the platform a true multiview option beyond games. It only supports live content, so on‑demand titles like Daredevil: Born Again can’t share a screen with a live broadcast. Google notes that fewer than five percent of devices will be unable to run the feature, though it didn’t publish a specific list.

For cord‑cutters who juggle sports, news and primetime, the addition turns YouTube TV into a more flexible viewing hub. While the restriction to live streams limits binge‑watch scenarios, the ability to mix packages without extra hardware could sway users away from traditional cable multiscreen setups. The service now offers a now genuinely customizable live TV experience.
