Sony has launched the Xperia 10 VIII, a midrange Android phone that offers minimal upgrades over its predecessor. The device features a 6.1-inch 2340 x 1080 OLED display that can get 50 percent brighter than the previous model. It retains the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 5,000mAh battery from the Xperia 10 VII.

The camera setup remains unchanged with a 50MP f/1.9 main camera, 13MP ultrawide lens, and 8MP front camera. Sony has added 15 percent louder speakers and quick access to digital payment tools via a double-tap of the power button. The Xperia 10 VIII features a translucent rear panel design and comes in Frozen White, Frosted Grey, and Misty Lilac.

However, the price has increased significantly, with the UK version costing £549 ($750), which is £150 ($205) more than its predecessor. The phone will be available in September.
