Samsung is gearing up for its first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2026, expected in February, where the Galaxy S26 lineup will be unveiled. Following the release of new foldables and an ultra-thin form factor in 2025, the company is poised to showcase its latest advancements. Engadget will provide live coverage, offering hands-on reviews of the new smartphones soon after the announcement.

The Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra are likely to retain a similar design to the S25, with internal upgrades. Expect the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip in all models, with some regions potentially using the Exynos 2600 chip. The S26 may feature a slightly larger 6.3-inch display and a slightly larger battery. Samsung is also rumored to be removing the S Pen digitizer layer in the Ultra.

Alongside the phones, Samsung is expected to introduce the Galaxy Buds 4 and 4 Pro, featuring a more compact design and head gesture support. The Galaxy Z Trifold, first announced in late 2025, may also get a wider release date. The Galaxy S26 Edge will remain an option, with a slightly revised design.

Samsung is also looking at new AI features. The company is reportedly nearing a deal with Perplexity to integrate its AI-powered search engine. Furthermore, a new version of the Bixby AI assistant could be unveiled, potentially integrated with Perplexity. These AI integrations show the direction Samsung is headed, mirroring Google's AI ambitions.
