ROG Xbox Ally X is receiving significant quality of life updates, with Automatic Super Resolution standing out as the most notable improvement. This new feature bridges the gap between performance mode's smoother framerates and graphics mode's enhanced visuals. The update addresses common concerns about handheld gaming compromises, offering users more flexible visual options across different playstyles.

The Automatic Super Resolution technology promises "1440p-like detail alongside smooth framerates on larger screens" when the handheld is docked. Xbox Insiders can preview this feature starting today, with the ability to toggle Auto SR through the Game Bar or set it as a default for specific titles. Additional updates include gameplay defaulting to TV display and enhanced smart TV compatibility.

Both handheld models will also receive improved controller pairing and an Enhanced Vibration feature that brings haptic feedback closer to Xbox controller quality. Initial reviews noted the haptics felt underwhelming, making this particular update especially welcome for users seeking a more immersive handheld experience that matches console-level feedback.
