Philips launches Skylight LED panel for indoor daylight simulation

Philips unveiled the Skylight, an LED‑driven faux skylight that mounts on any flat surface. Available in medium and large formats, it uses Signify’s NatureConnect tech to mimic daylight’s brightness and color temperature. An IP44 rating lets owners place it in damp rooms like bathrooms, while a rhythm mode shifts hue and intensity to follow a natural day cycle. It can be wall‑mounted or shelved.

The unit includes five preset scenes ranging from focused daytime to evening ambience, and an optional Skylight VitaUp variant adds a UV‑B module claimed to boost vitamin D synthesis. Integrated safety shuts the lamp off after eight hours, preventing overexposure. Control relies on a bundled remote; the product lacks Wi‑Fi, Matter or Zigbee smart connectivity. The remote offers dimming and scene selection.

Pricing starts at 500 euros in Europe, with availability slated for later this month. No U.S. launch date has been announced, leaving North American consumers uncertain. By offering a tunable daylight replica without smart hub dependence, Philips targets homeowners seeking health‑oriented lighting solutions, especially in spaces where natural sun is scarce. Consumers can expect a sleek, minimalist design.
