Signify, the company behind Philips Hue and WiZ smart lights, is launching a new Sports Live feature that syncs lighting effects to real-time sports data. The feature arrives just in time for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in June, bringing immersive game-day lighting to living rooms worldwide.

Sports Live uses live match data to trigger lighting effects for key moments like goals, red cards, and yellow cards. Users can select a preferred team and assign color-changing lights to match their side. The feature works automatically without specialized hardware or additional services. It also handles broadcast delays by pausing and resuming effects automatically.

During quieter periods, lights display the leading team's color, the viewer's team colors, or warm white when the score is tied. This creates a consistently personalized viewing experience that extends the action beyond the screen. Last month, Signify introduced SpatialAware, and recently launched an upgraded Philips Hue Bridge Pro with enhanced capabilities.
