Signify is updating its Philips Hue ecosystem with a new Sports Live feature that syncs home lighting to live sports data. This update allows smart bulbs to react instantly to goals, red cards, and yellow cards. The rollout began in May and reaches all users this month via an App Store update.

Users can select a favorite team and assign specific colors to their lights without needing extra hardware. The system intelligently manages game states, showing the leading team's color or warm white during ties. To handle broadcast lag, the feature includes a manual pause and resume function to keep lighting effects perfectly timed with the screen.

This launch aligns with the 2026 FIFA World Cup kickoff, aiming to make home viewing more immersive. Signify recently expanded its ecosystem with SpatialAware and the Philips Hue Bridge Pro to improve connectivity. The accompanying app update also introduces a Bridge group feature to organize devices and automations in one central dashboard.

These updates transform static room lighting into a dynamic extension of the broadcast. By removing the need for third-party services, the company simplifies how fans integrate live data into their home environment. The software now manages everything from team colors to match events automatically.
