Minecraft, the best-selling video game of all time, is set to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 27. Developer Mojang Studios confirmed that an upgrade path will be available for existing Switch version owners, with further details to be announced.

The Switch 2 version promises enhanced visuals, featuring Mojang's Vibrant Visuals mode by default. This mode includes directional lighting, volumetric fog, and improved shadows. The exclusive Super Mario Mash-Up pack will also benefit from these graphical upgrades. However, Vibrant Visuals will not be available in split-screen, some other game modes, or certain Marketplace content.

Mojang has not yet confirmed support for Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, which could offer more precise building capabilities. More information about the port is expected in the coming weeks. This release follows the upcoming spin-off, Minecraft Dungeons II, scheduled for September 29 on PC and consoles, including Switch and Switch 2.
