Microsoft is sunsetting Copilot Mode on Edge after integrating its capabilities directly into the browser for both desktop and mobile platforms. The company began testing this mode in July 2023, enabling users to search across multiple tabs and analyze page details simultaneously. Now these functionalities are standard across all Edge versions.

The original Copilot Mode allowed users to ask questions like "Compare the smart TVs across all my open tabs" for structured side-by-side analysis. Microsoft also introduced Journeys for saving projects, now available free on mobile devices. Additional features include Vision and Voice capabilities, letting users share screens with Copilot and interact through natural language commands.

Edge mobile users gain access to the redesigned tab page featuring easily accessible Journeys, plus long-term memory that recalls previous conversations across devices. The Study and Learn mode transforms references into guided sessions with interactive quizzes, while Writing Assistant helps generate and refine content drafts.

Users retain control over these Copilot features through customizable settings, choosing which tools to enable or disable based on their browsing preferences.
