Microsoft is rolling out a new AI coloring book feature to its Paint app, allowing Windows Insiders to generate coloring pages from text prompts. The tool, exclusive to Copilot+ PCs, creates multiple image variations based on user input, like "a cute fluffy cat on a donut." Users can select, edit, and save the results for printing or digital use.

This update arrives as Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has publicly stated that AI must prove its long-term value to society. The feature aims to deliver tangible, family-friendly applications for generative AI, moving beyond abstract concepts to practical, everyday tools. It's part of a broader push to integrate AI directly into familiar Windows applications.

Alongside Paint, Microsoft is enhancing Notepad with improved Write, Rewrite, and Summarize tools powered by GPT. These updates promise faster cloud-based results and interactive previews. For now, access is limited to users in the Canary and Dev channels of the Windows 11 Insider program, signaling a gradual rollout for these new AI capabilities.
