The Markdown enhancements include a formatting toolbar, keyboard shortcuts, and direct syntax editing. Notepad also expands streaming for AI text features like Write, Rewrite, and Summarize, allowing users to see results faster without waiting for complete responses. These AI features require a Microsoft account.

Paint receives a Coloring book AI feature exclusive to Copilot+ PCs, letting users generate coloring pages from text prompts like "a cute fluffy cat on a donut." The app also adds a fill tolerance slider for precise color application. Both apps are available to Windows Insiders in the Canary and Dev Channels, with Microsoft encouraging feedback through the Feedback Hub.
