Meta has appointed Dina Powell McCormick, a former banking executive and Republican White House official, as its new president and vice‑chairman. The appointment follows her resignation from the board in December and positions her to steer the company’s strategy and execution.Mark Zuckerberg praised McCormick’s experience in global finance and her international relationships as key to managing Meta’s next growth phase. Prior to joining Meta, McCormick was a partner at Goldman Sachs, led its Global Sovereign investment banking unit, and most recently served as vice chair, president and head of global client services at merchant bank BDT & MSD Partners.

She also held senior roles in the Trump and Bush administrations, including deputy national security adviser to President Donald Trump and assistant secretary of state for Condoleezza Rice. McCormick’s appointment follows the hiring of former Trump aide Curtis Joseph Mahoney as chief legal officer. The moves signal Meta’s intent to leverage political and financial expertise amid regulatory scrutiny and competitive pressures.

Stakeholders such as investors, regulators, and users may see shifts in corporate governance and policy direction. This strategic staffing underscores Meta’s focus on navigating geopolitical risks and strengthening its global partnership network.
