vivo V80 Review: Green Design, 7,200mAh Battery

This is the vivo V80, yes, the same V80 we handled earlier this month. Well, different unit; this one is Green (or is it Blue?). We're torn whether it's a green shade of blue or a blue shade of green.

Either way, it's much nicer (and original) than the i Phone shade of orange we handled last time. This global model ships in a box with a transparent soft case, a 90W charger, and a USB-A to USB-C cable. Unboxing the vivo V80.

Design-wise, the vivo V80 sits in the middle between its predecessor, the V70, and a recent i Phone Pro. It's built like the V70 with a matte metal frame and semi-transparent glass, and a subtle paint job; it also resembles the i Phone Pro models' wide camera island. None of this is bad.

The V80 feels very well made, and its smooth matte surface has a distinct air of flagshipness about it. The Zeiss-branded cameras also look like they mean business, too. However, here's where the new model isn't as convincing.

This is essentially the same camera system as the one on the V70. And it's not just the cameras: the V80 has the same Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 as the V70 from a year ago. The biggest (but you could also say only) differences are the name, a slightly faster screen (144Hz vs 120Hz), and the battery capacity, which is the most meaningful change.

The V80 moves to a 7,200mAh Silicon-carbon unit over the 6,500mAh of the V70. And battery endurance is something we'll test soon, so stay tuned!.
