OpenAI is rolling out GPT-6 to ChatGPT, bringing a capability called Intelligent UI that lets the chatbot return fast, fully interactive user interfaces. The company trained GPT-6 to handle everyday conversations better and to compose more visual responses within the chatbot.
Depending on the request, replies could include graphics, tappable buttons, forms, charts and other interactive elements. For example, asking for help planning a dinner could produce an interactive table listing how many ingredients to buy based on the number of guests, along with checklists and follow-up forms for more detailed help. If plain text suits the question better, the model can choose not to add visuals.
To reduce wait times on complex tasks, OpenAI gave the model the ability to answer while it is still thinking, unlike other reasoning models that settle their output first. The model is also trained to compose responses across multiple messages, with each one adding useful information so the final output hangs together. OpenAI says the interactive format can help users grasp complex topics through visual aids, and can be used to build specialized tools such as a calculator for investment decisions or for splitting a bill. Users can even recreate retro games like Snake within ChatGPT.
GPT-6 with Intelligent UI has already begun rolling out to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users worldwide, powered by GPT-6 Sol. Free and low-cost Go account holders will get access today, but with GPT-6 Luna, which is less capable than Sol.
