BMW has introduced the iX4, an electric version of its X4 SUV, as its third Neue Klasse EV. The iX4 retains the X4's tall, compact SUV design with a swooping rear roofline and adds the distinctive Neue Klasse kidney grille. It features a 112kWh battery delivering up to 428 miles of EPA range on the iX4 50 xDrive model, with 10-80% charging in just 21 minutes via 800-volt architecture.
The 50 xDrive produces 463 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque, hitting 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds. The sportier iX4 M60 xDrive delivers 603 horsepower and 465 lb-ft, accelerating from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 149 mph. Europe also gets an iX4 40 xDrive variant.
Inside, the iX4 offers a luxurious cabin with optional 3D heads-up display, a 17.9-inch center touchscreen, and BMW's new vertical spoke steering wheel. The M60 xDrive includes a 13-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. Powered by BMW's Operating System X, the iX4 will arrive in showrooms in March 2027 starting at $67,695.
