GoPro will cut 23 percent of its global staff, removing 145 employees, as the action‑camera maker restructures for 2026. The San Mateo‑based company disclosed the plan in a Form 8‑K, with layoffs beginning in Q2 2026 and expected costs between $11.5 million and $15 million.

The move follows a 2024 layoff wave and a 2025 fiscal year that ended with a $9 million loss in the fourth quarter. Market share has slipped to the likes of DJI, Insta360, and smartphone cameras, prompting GoPro to double down on its AI‑centric GP3 processor.

First GP3‑powered models will debut soon, signaling a shift toward higher performance and image quality. By trimming its workforce, GoPro aims to reallocate resources to product innovation and regain a competitive edge in the crowded action‑camera space.
