LM Studio's agentic workflow platform Bionic now supports Kimi K3, Moonshot AI's 2.8-trillion-parameter model with a 1-million-context window. Bionic handles coding, research, and complex document tasks using local or cloud-based open models.

Previously, cloud options included Deep Seek V4, GLM-5.2, and Kimi K2 variants. Kimi K3 is considered the most capable open-source model currently available. Hosted on US servers with Zero Data Retention enabled by default, prompts and outputs aren't stored after processing.

Pricing for Kimi K3 in Bionic is $3 per million input tokens, $0.30 per million cached input tokens, and $15 per million output tokens — significantly higher than previous models ranging from $0.95 to $1.74 per million input and $3.48 to $4.50 per million output. LM Studio Bionic is available for Mac and Windows.
