Google retracted its earlier announcement about Search Live's global rollout, clarifying the feature remains exclusive to the US and India with testing expanding to additional markets. The initial report claimed availability in over 200 countries, but Google apologized for the miscommunication, placing any worldwide launch on hold indefinitely.

Search Live, debuted at I/O 2025, lets users point their phone's camera at objects and ask real-time questions. After a September launch for all US Google app users, the tool integrates with AI Mode and Google Lens, offering interactive visual queries without typing.

The feature now runs on the Gemini 3.1 Flash model, promising faster responses, more natural conversations, and native multilingual support. This upgrade aims to improve reliability and user experience across both Android and iOS platforms.

For now, only users in the US and India can access Search Live globally. While testing in more markets suggests a broader release may eventually arrive, Google has paused any expansion pending further evaluation. Consumers elsewhere must wait for official confirmation.
