Google's AI assistant, Gemini Spark, now features Chrome web-browsing capabilities, allowing it to "use your logged-in accounts and saved passwords to handle tedious web errands." This integration enables Spark to perform tasks such as researching flight options and initiating the booking process, as well as scheduling apartment viewings.

Google has implemented safety features to protect user data, including defenses against prompt injection, which can hide malicious prompts on websites. While specific details on these safety tools are limited, Google assures a "layered defense." Spark will not complete payments autonomously, requiring user review and finalization.

This new feature is currently rolling out in the US, with expansion to other regions planned. Gemini Spark's access has also been broadened to Google AI Pro subscribers in over 160 countries, and it already integrates with Google's Workspace apps.
