To mark its 30th anniversary, Canon is releasing a Limited Edition version of its popular PowerShot G7 X III compact camera. The new model features a unique "graphite" color and a knurled front ring, exuding a sense of luxury. It also sports a 30-year anniversary logo. This release caters to both existing fans and those seeking a stylish upgrade to a well-regarded camera.

Originally launched almost seven years ago, the G7 X III was one of the first cameras marketed toward vloggers. It boasts a 20.1MP sensor, a flip-up touchscreen, and 4K video capabilities. The camera’s ability to stream directly to YouTube was a standout feature. It’s now available for $1,299, including a wrist strap and SD card.

Canon's move comes after the G7 X III gained popularity with influencers. The original model was in short supply for a time. Alongside the camera, Canon announced new RF-mount full-frame lenses. These include an ultra-wide angle prime lens and a fisheye zoom lens, expanding options for Canon users. Shipping is set to begin in April 2026.

This limited edition release capitalizes on the enduring popularity of the G7 X III. It also reflects Canon's commitment to the compact camera market. The new lenses offer professionals and enthusiasts more photographic choices. It will be interesting to see if this special edition camera generates as much interest as the original.
