Boston Dynamics has officially unveiled the production-ready Atlas humanoid robot at CES 2026, marking a pivotal shift from prototype testing to commercial availability. CEO Robert Playter announced that the final enterprise version is now being built, designed for industrial reliability and autonomy. Unlike its hydraulic predecessors, the new Atlas is all-electric, capable of lifting 110 pounds with a 7.5-foot reach, and operates in temperatures from -4°F to 104°F.

The first deployments will go to Hyundai, a majority shareholder, and Google DeepMind, a new AI partner. Hyundai plans to deploy Atlas in car plants by 2028 for parts sequencing, eventually expanding to assembly and heavy lifting. Google DeepMind will integrate its Gemini Robotics AI models into Atlas, enhancing its autonomous capabilities.

This launch signifies a major leap in industrial automation, promising to revolutionize manufacturing workflows and complex operations.
