Bluesky AI Assistant Attie Creates Custom Social Feeds

Bluesky has launched Attie, an AI assistant that lets users create custom social media feeds through natural language prompts. Developed by chief innovation officer Jay Graber and the Exploration team, Attie is described as an "agentic social app" built on Bluesky's open-source AT Protocol. Users can simply describe what they want to see, and Attie handles the coding automatically.

Unlike traditional feed customization that requires technical knowledge, Attie allows users to type requests like "Show me electronic music from my network" or "Builders working on agent infrastructure." Graber emphasized that the experience feels more like conversation than software configuration, with the AI building feeds based on user descriptions. The tool represents Bluesky's expansion beyond its core social platform into AI-powered content curation.

Currently in invite-only closed beta, Attie operates as a separate application from Bluesky, though both share the same underlying framework. This architecture could enable cross-app functionality between Bluesky, Attie, and any other applications built on the AT Protocol. Users who prefer not to use the AI assistant can continue using Bluesky's existing features without interruption.
