Banijay is rolling out the Black Mirror Experience in Montreal this May, with more venues to follow. The new venture comes from Banijay Live Studio, a subsidiary of the company that owns the hit series, and partners with VR firm Univrse. The 60‑minute adventure blends physical space and virtual reality, letting one to six participants step into the story. Players aged 12 and up can join.

Inside the experience, guests enter the showroom of the fictional tech giant Phaethon, which showcases its new robotic AI companion, the LifeAgent. The device performs a full‑body scan to anticipate users’ needs before they do, a twist that echoes Black Mirror’s signature cautionary tone. The show runs in French, English, and Spanish at Infinity Experiences in Montreal.

The launch underscores a growing trend toward immersive storytelling that blurs the line between fiction and reality. By requiring no prior knowledge of the series, the experience opens the Black Mirror universe to a broader audience, positioning Banijay as a pioneer in narrative‑driven VR entertainment. The project could set a new standard for how media franchises expand into interactive formats.
