Apple is set to revamp its iPhone Camera app for iOS 27, giving users deeper control over shooting settings. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says the new interface will let users swap default widgets—resolution, flash, live photos—for custom options from an “Add Widgets” tray. The change targets both pro and hobbyist photographers today.

Beyond the UI, Apple plans to add advanced controls for depth‑of‑field, exposure, and photo‑styles directly in the app. The company will also introduce grid and level overlays while shooting, and reposition the full‑control toggle from the top right to beside the shutter button, streamlining on‑screen adjustments for every session today.

AI integration will surface within the camera. A new Siri mode will let users access visual intelligence tools—image search, text translation—directly from the app, while photo‑editing features harness machine learning. The AI experience will also find a home in Dynamic Island, replacing the older border‑based assistant for every shot today.

Other iOS 27 tweaks include a revamped Safari start page, a richer Weather app, and a simplified Image Playground. Scheduled for WWDC 2026 on June 8, these changes signal Apple’s shift toward a more customizable, AI‑powered camera experience that could redefine mobile photography standards for every photographer worldwide today and industry leaders.
