PC shipments are in steep decline, falling more than 20 percent from last year, and the drop could reach 27 percent by the end of 2026 as component prices keep rising. Apple's first foldable is also drawing attention, with next-generation prototypes reportedly trying to fit Face ID beneath the display.

Cameras and Audio

A leak suggests the Huawei Pura 90 Plus will carry a 1-inch main camera with variable aperture. On the accessories side, Insta360's Mic kit earns praise as a colorful midrange option, while the company's new e-ink wireless mics add expandable storage.

Software, Services and AI

1Password launched an AI agent security platform that lets users hand data protection to their preferred agent. Mark Zuckerberg says Meta is entering a new phase with its Muse agent, which he expects will generate more revenue per user than the company's existing products. Spotify introduced podcast Memberships, with creators keeping 90 percent of the revenue. Meanwhile, government websites across the EU and Canada went offline over a PHP vulnerability that required an urgent security patch.

Smartphones

Several Chinese handsets are in the pipeline. vivo's Y600 is set to debut next week with a 10,000mAh battery, and a vivo X500 E leak points to it being a rebranded V80. One Plus's Turbo Pro reportedly borrows heavily from the One Plus, and the iQOO 16R has received its first certification ahead of release. A new nubia A76 4G arrived quietly with a larger display and faster charging.

Wearables and Other Devices

Samsung's Galaxy Fit 4 has leaked in three colors and looks largely unchanged. Oppo's Enco X4 flagship noise-cancelling earbuds were unboxed and handled. Roku's Pro Series LX OLED TVs are now available on Amazon. On the vehicle front, Tesla plans to sell Cybercabs to other transport companies before the end of the year.

Software Updates and Launches

Sony has begun seeding an Android 17 update to the Xperia 1 VII, following the Xperia 1 VIII rollout. Oppo's Reno17 and Reno17C are rumored to launch in India, with the Reno17 Pro excluded.

Apple's iPhone Duo goes on sale this Friday, October 23, and Apple has warned of limited walk-in stock on launch day. The One Plus Ace 7 series launches in China on October 29.
