Insta360's latest wireless microphones introduce expandable micro SD card storage and customizable e-ink displays at a lower price point. The new Mic features customizable e-ink covers where users can upload personal photos or match business branding, distinguishing it from competitors. Like the Mic Pro, it uses NPU-based processing to reduce background noise and connects directly to Insta360 cameras like Luna Ultra and X6 for 48k Hz audio recording.
One receiver supports up to four mics and works with both new Mic and existing Mic Pro units. However, the new Mic lacks the triple-mic array found in the Mic Pro, which enables directional sound pickup. With an SD card installed, the Mic offers 32-bit float internal recording, beneficial for unpredictable noise environments.
Pricing includes individual units at $80, receiver bundles at $140, or transmitter pairs with charging case at $250, all cheaper than Mic Pro equivalents. The base package includes accessories like a button magnet, clip windshield, and USB-C adapter.
