Louisville Apple Store Gets $1M Facelift

Apple has approved a $1 million facelift for its Louisville, Kentucky, store on Shelbyville Road. The renovation will swap out the storefront’s exterior cladding and refresh a 659‑square‑foot section, adding new glass panels and a landscaped courtyard. The project marks the first major overhaul since the store opened in September 2019.

The permit filed with Louisville Metro Planning and Design lists construction costs at $800,000, subject to change, and names Sajo Construction of Montreal as the contractor. Sajo has handled multiple Apple storefront projects over two decades, including the recent Apple Sainte‑Catherine store in Montreal. The upgrade is expected to improve customer flow and brand visibility.

Although Apple has not issued a public statement, the renovation follows a trend of updating older stores to match newer flagship designs. The 12,000‑square‑foot Oxmoor Center location, which sits within a larger mall redevelopment, will see its interior and exterior refreshed to align with contemporary aesthetics. Customers can expect a smoother transition during construction.

The upgrade will cost roughly $1 million, a sizable investment for a single retail site. It underscores Apple’s commitment to maintaining a polished brand image across all markets, even in secondary locations. The renovation’s completion date remains unconfirmed, but the project signals a broader strategy of selective refurbishing to extend store lifespans.
