A week before Google I/O 2026, the Android Show stream teased new ways for iPhone users to slip into the Android ecosystem. Google highlighted a partnership that lets users transfer passwords, eSIMs, photos and contacts wirelessly, mirroring Apple’s own Transfer to Android feature.

The announcement confirmed that Pixel and Samsung Galaxy devices will support the switch in the first wave, slated for later 2026. Android Quick Share, already available on the Pixel 10, will expand to Honor, OnePlus, Oppo, Samsung, Vivo and Xiaomi, allowing AirDrop‑style file sharing across brands.

Google also previewed its new “Googlebooks” notebooks, powered by Gemini Intelligence, and a suite of AI‑driven enhancements for Chrome, Wear OS and Android 17, including 3D emoji and a new auto‑browsing tool.

These moves tighten the competitive gap between the two ecosystems, offering iPhone owners a smoother path to Android while broadening Android’s cross‑brand connectivity.
