T-Mobile Satellite Service Explained

T-Mobile's T-Satellite service offers connectivity via Starlink satellites, extending coverage beyond traditional cell networks. This feature, available to both T-Mobile and non-T-Mobile customers, utilizes LTE Band 25 to seamlessly switch between terrestrial and satellite networks, ensuring connectivity in over 500,000 miles in the U.S. not covered by other services.

T-Satellite supports full voice and data services through approved apps like WhatsApp, Google Maps, and X (formerly Twitter), and even MMS texting. Unlike some other satellite phone services, T-Satellite does not require users to point their phone toward a satellite, offering a more seamless experience. Users will see "T-Mobile Space X" or "T-Sat+Starlink" in their status bar when connected.

While T-Mobile customers on "Experience Beyond" plans get the service included, other carriers' subscribers can sign up for $10 per line per month. The service is compatible with most phones sold through T-Mobile channels in the last four years, including Google Pixel, Samsung Galaxy, and Apple iPhone. To check compatibility, users can visit T-Mobile's official tool and input their IMEI and EID numbers. The service launched in 2025.
