Samsung Galaxy S25 One UI 9 testing begins ahead of schedule

Samsung has reportedly begun internal testing of One UI 9 for the Galaxy S25 series, according to tipster Tarun Vats on X. The company's first internal build surfaced late on June 4, suggesting the year-old flagship lineup is entering the next phase of Android OS development. This timing marks an acceleration compared to previous years.

The testing schedule appears notably ahead of the typical rollout pattern. Internal tests for the Galaxy S24 series began in mid-June 2025, but Samsung has moved that timeline up to the first week of June for the S25. Vats speculates that an official One UI 9 Beta for the S25 could launch later this month or in July, though no concrete dates have been confirmed.

When Samsung eventually releases the beta, users can expect improvements like new customization tools in the Notes app and enhanced integration between Contacts and Creative Studio. The Quick Panel received separate controls for brightness, sound, and media playback in earlier builds. Beta 2 for the Galaxy S26 series delivered a 1.6GB patch focused primarily on bug fixes.

This accelerated testing schedule suggests Samsung wants to bring One UI 9 to its recent flagships simultaneously rather than staggering releases across model years.
