Meta will donate its Ray‑Ban AI glasses to legally blind U.S. veterans, targeting the more than 130,000 service members who meet that definition. The company partners with the Blinded Veterans Association (BVA) to distribute devices at in‑person events and to provide technical assistance. A dedicated training guide will teach users voice‑command activation, document reading, call handling and navigation for everyday tasks today.

The BVA will host monthly webinars with Tech Soup, letting veterans ask questions and receive real‑time support for the glasses’ AI features. In‑person clinics will hand out the devices and offer early troubleshooting, while the guide aims to boost autonomy for blind or low‑vision users. Meta hopes the program creates a community of veterans sharing similar experiences.

Beyond the charitable effort, Meta recently pushed an update to its Ray‑Ban Display line, adding Palm Unlock biometric entry, live‑sports HUD scores and WhatsApp video‑call POV streaming. Those enhancements showcase the platform’s broader XR ambitions ahead of the September Connect event, where Qualcomm is rumored to reveal new hardware. The donation program anchors the technology in a tangible social benefit.
