Google is bringing Gemini 3.1 directly into Chrome for Android's toolbar this June, transforming how users interact with web content. The integration lets people summarize articles, ask questions about current pages, and extract details without leaving the browser or switching apps.

Users can opt into 'Personal Intelligence,' which tailors responses using hobbies, family details, and preferences. Chrome can execute multi-step tasks like booking parking spots using event ticket info or automatically updating recurring pet food orders. The browser can also pull information from Gmail, Calendar, and Keep to complete connected experiences across Google's ecosystem.

New features include Nano Banana for creating visuals from webpages and Auto browse, Google's agentic browsing capability that handles tasks independently. You might reserve parking through SpotHero using event details or update Chewy orders as your puppy grows. These additions require devices with at least 4GB of RAM, Android 12 or newer, and English-U.S. language settings.

The rollout begins at month's end for U.S. Android devices, though Auto browse initially targets AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. While the convenience is compelling, giving AI control over browsing habits, purchases, and personal data raises familiar privacy questions that users must weigh against the time-saving benefits.
