Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 Leak Reveals 5,000-Nit Display and Bigger Battery

A fresh leak suggests Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will feature a dramatically brighter display and improved battery life. According to tipster Ice Universe on Weibo, the next-generation smartwatch could reach 5,000 nits of peak brightness, doubling the current model's 3,000-nit output. This upgrade would make the screen significantly more readable under direct sunlight.

The leak also points to an 800mAh battery, up from the existing 590mAh cell. Combined with potential software optimizations, this could extend usage between charges. Samsung appears to be targeting outdoor enthusiasts and athletes with these hardware improvements.

Durability seems set for a boost too, with rumors of an IP69K rating replacing the current IP68 certification. This higher standard offers protection against high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. Samsung hasn't confirmed any details, but the company's next Galaxy Unpacked event should provide clarity soon.

These incremental upgrades address real-world usability issues rather than flashy AI features. However, Samsung may eventually need more compelling reasons to convince current Ultra owners to upgrade, beyond brighter screens and larger batteries.
