Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 Leak Hints Massive Battery Upgrade

Samsung suggests the upcoming Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will house a battery rated at 784 mAh, likely marketed as 800 mAh. That marks roughly a 35 percent increase over the current 590 mAh cell. The report also links the larger pack to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear Elite processor, promising better efficiency alongside the size boost.

Battery endurance has long hampered Wear OS devices. The first Ultra delivered just under three days between charges, already strong for the platform but trailing rivals that have narrowed the gap. Pairing a bigger cell with a more efficient chip could push overall runtime past three‑day mark, while the standard Galaxy Watch 9 (40 mm) is rumored to receive a 382 mAh battery, about 23 percent larger than its predecessor.

Samsung plans to unveil three wearables—Galaxy Watch 9, Watch 9 Classic and the Ultra 2—alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 at its next Unpacked event, with retail likely beginning in August. By finally delivering a substantially larger battery, the Ultra 2 answers one of the most vocal requests from power users, turning endurance from a compromise into an overall selling point.
