Galaxy S26 Ultra Red Screen Fix Coming

Galaxy S26 Ultra users are reporting a concerning "red screen" or "red stain" issue affecting their displays, particularly noticeable with brighter colors like white. A South Korean publication highlighted these user experiences, with many reporting the problem after three to four months of ownership.

Samsung has reportedly investigated and identified the cause as the phone's new Privacy Display technology. An official stated that the red tint occurs under specific conditions: when the phone is exposed to strong lighting at maximum brightness. The good news for affected users is that Samsung considers this a software-related problem.

A software update is reportedly in the works to resolve the redness issue. This Privacy Display technology has previously been linked to the S26 Ultra's display being darker than its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and exhibiting a significant drop in peak brightness at wider angles, according to tests by Tom's Guide and Nicholas Sutrich.
