Samsung has addressed a significant annoyance with its Galaxy S26 Ultra's Privacy Display feature in the One UI 9 Beta 4 update. Previously, when a video was shrunk into a picture-in-picture (PiP) window, the privacy effect would dim and restrict the viewing angles of the entire screen, making other content difficult to see.

This latest beta update intelligently confines the Privacy Display's effect solely to the PiP window. This means users can now watch videos privately without compromising the visibility and brightness of the rest of their phone's interface. The update removes the unnecessary dimming and color shifts that previously plagued the entire display during PiP playback.

The Privacy Display, powered by Samsung's Flex Magic Pixel technology, is designed to limit viewing angles, making the screen unreadable from the side. Its ability to be enabled for specific apps or functions was a key differentiator, but the previous implementation's all-encompassing dimming during PiP playback was a usability drawback. This enhancement, part of One UI 9 Beta 4, aims to make the privacy feature more practical and less intrusive, aligning with user expectations for a flagship device.
