Qualcomm's custom Oryon cores now span its chip portfolio, making it tricky to compare performance across models. Motorola's Razr Ultra 2026 uses the last-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite, while the Razr Fold runs the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (non-Elite). I ran six benchmarks to see which performs better.

In Geekbench 6, the Elite chip averaged 2,791 single-core vs. 2,593 for the Gen 5, but the Gen 5 won multi-core (8,559 vs. 8,268). However, Geekbench 7 flipped multi-core — the Elite scored 6,777 vs. 5,845. For AI, the Gen 5 led with a 3,932 quantized score vs. 3,245.

In GPU testing (3DMark Wild Life Extreme), the Elite dominated at 32.36 FPS average vs. 25.04 for the Gen 5. The older Elite chip excels in single-core and graphics, while the newer base chip is stronger in AI and some multi-core workloads.
