DuRoBo Moodi Wireless Page Turner Challenges Boox Tappy

DuRoBo launched the Moodi, a $30.99 Bluetooth page-turning remote sold on Amazon US. The pocket-sized device targets readers who want to avoid thumb strain during long sessions, offering three modes — Reading, Multimedia, and Browsing — plus a 90mAh battery rated for weeks of use. A built-in lanyard keeps it tethered to your wrist.

The standout feature is the set of swappable emoji caps — labeled meh, cheeky, drowsy, hype, vibin', and goofy — that sit atop the clicky, springy buttons. DuRoBo claims compatibility with a "wide range" of e-readers, tablets, and smartphones, though it hasn't published a definitive device list. The company previously introduced the Krono e Paper Focus Hub at CES 2026.

Boox Tappy already occupies this niche with a similarly priced tappable remote, but Boox's design is flatter and lacks the Moodi's tactile caps or multimedia controls. DuRoBo's entry marks the first direct competition in a category that has been a Boox monopoly.

For consumers, the Moodi adds meaningful choice: mechanical-keyboard-style click feel, wrist security, and media controls at the same price point. The real test will be whether the "wide range" claim holds up across Kindle, Kobo, and Android e-readers without proprietary pairing hurdles.
