Apple's watchOS 27 may not have dominated WWDC 2026 headlines, but the update delivers meaningful upgrades for Apple Watch users. The standout addition brings Siri AI to the wearable with a dedicated app that syncs across iPhone, iPad, and Vision Pro. This marks Apple Watch's entry into the Apple Intelligence ecosystem two years after the platform launched.

The redesigned Siri assistant brings personal context understanding and in-app action capabilities, though it requires English and won't arrive until later this year. A new dynamic app grid activates when pressing the Digital Crown, showing six Siri-suggested apps with the Siri app centered when enabled. Users can double-click the Digital Crown to return to their watch face or swipe up for the full app library.

Workout Buddy finally works independently without requiring an iPhone nearby, and now supports Spanish alongside English. Health tracking gets perimenopause support in Cycle Tracking and improved treadmill distance measurement. A single tap gesture lets users interact with Smart Stack widgets for quick actions like starting workouts or checking heart rate.

Apple consolidates Find My into one unified app with Precision Finding for locating iPhones, AirTag 2, and AirPods Pro 3. Battery optimization suggestions will proactively disable unused features like Raise to Speak. The update requires Apple Watch Series 9 or later, including the upcoming Series 11, and launches this fall after July's public beta.
