Threads expands its Live Chats feature, adding new moderation tools and broadening access for Community Champions. The update follows a April debut that let up to 150 users join real‑time group conversations around live events. Messages, photos, videos, links, reactions, and polls now benefit from added controls.

All Community Champions now can create and host Live Chats, with an option to invite up to three co‑hosts to help manage the conversation. Hosts also gain the power to delete messages for everyone, and Threads is testing ways to make host messages appear more visually prominent. Moderation will feel tighter as a result.

Translation support arrives alongside the other upgrades, widening accessibility for users who speak different languages. During high‑profile events like the World Cup, the feature could keep global audiences connected in real time. By breaking language barriers, Threads positions Live Chats as a more inclusive platform for worldwide engagement.

Threads also signals plans for desktop support and pinned messages, though no rollout date has been announced. The company’s incremental updates hint at a strategy to keep the feature competitive against larger social‑media ecosystems. Users can now experience a richer, more moderated chat environment without waiting for a major platform shift.
