The new app delivers an "all-new native Mac experience" with a universal keyboard shortcut that activates the Command Bar when both Command keys are pressed. This update replaces Perplexity's previous Mac software and introduces more seamless integration with Apple's ecosystem.

Personal Computer operates across local files, native Mac applications, the web, and Perplexity's secure servers to complete tasks. The AI assistant works on any Mac, representing an advanced version of Perplexity's Computer feature. Perplexity first began rolling out Personal Computer in April, positioning it as a comprehensive solution for users seeking AI assistance directly within their computing environment.

The new app is currently available exclusively to Pro and Max subscribers, with Perplexity confirming all paid tier users can access the feature through this updated application. While the original app remains functional temporarily, Perplexity indicates it will be discontinued in favor of this new experience.
