Apple's upcoming macOS 27 Golden Gate will introduce a dedicated Siri app for Mac users, marking the first time Apple has released a standalone Siri application for the platform. The new Siri app will appear as an icon in the Mac's dock and features a rebuilt architecture with personal context understanding, world knowledge, on-screen awareness, and in-app actions. Users can view all previous conversations or start new ones, with iCloud syncing conversations across Apple devices.

The app offers two interface options: a list-style view similar to Messages and a grid-style view with floating cards for each conversation. In System Settings, users can manage conversation retention periods (forever, 30 days, or one year) and customize default opening behavior and conversation preview settings. The Siri app will be available on MacBook Neo (A18 Pro) and Mac models with M1 and later processors.

While 9to5Mac notes the app is relatively basic compared to competitors like Claude and ChatGPT, it represents Apple's shift toward making Siri more accessible and integrated directly into the Mac experience.
