MacBook Neo delays push shoppers to Amazon for faster delivery

Customers eyeing the new MacBook Neo must brace for a 2‑ to 3‑week wait when ordering from Apple’s online store or most physical locations. In contrast, Amazon lists several configurations that can ship within a few days, giving bargain hunters a faster route to the colorful laptop. The disparity has turned the marketplace into a scramble for inventory for most buyers.

Apple’s website shows identical 2‑3 week estimates for every Neo model, while in‑store pickup ranges from three to four weeks depending on city. Amazon’s stock varies widely: the 256 GB Silver version arrives in three to four days, but the 512 GB Touch ID models ship in one to two days. Walmart, Target, Best Buy and Costco also carry the Neo, though local availability is hit‑or‑miss.

Analysts trace the shortage to Apple’s misreading of demand, with a recent report suggesting the company could exhaust its A18 Pro chip supply before the Neo’s production run ends. Meanwhile, the base‑model Mac mini faces separate pressures from AI‑driven demand and a broader RAM shortage. Fortunately, the new M5 MacBook Air remains readily available, with same‑day pickup in select stores.
