Apple TV+ is adding Jesse Williams to the cast of The Morning Show for its fifth season, joining Jeff Daniels as the latest high-profile addition. Williams, known for his role in Grey's Anatomy, will play Vernon, UBN's new Head of News, described as a brash pot-stirrer with a talent for audience engagement.

Williams joins an already stellar lineup that includes Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Billy Crudup, and Jon Hamm. Crudup, who plays network executive Cory Ellison, has been a standout for the series, winning two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2020 and 2024. The show has earned nearly 30 Primetime Emmy nominations and three wins, including contemporary hairstyling and makeup awards.

The Morning Show wrapped its fourth season last November, with showrunner Charlotte Stoudt suggesting season 5 could premiere in 2026, barring delays like last year's writers strike. The drama series continues to be a flagship offering for Apple TV+, which costs $12.99 per month and features other hits like Severance and Shrinking.
