Apple has released the iOS 27 public beta, introducing a significant change: a standalone Siri app. This marks the first time Siri will be a pre-installed application on iPhone.

The new Siri app will appear on the Home Screen and is also slated for release on Mac, Vision Pro, iPad, and Apple Watch. It offers a chat-style interface for revisiting and initiating conversations, syncing across devices via iCloud. Users can upload photos and files for analysis and leverage new Siri AI and Apple Intelligence capabilities, which include accessing broad world knowledge and personal context from the user's device.

Siri AI in iOS 27 can recognize on-screen content and reference personal data like messages and emails. However, the Siri app will only be available on devices supporting Apple Intelligence, starting with the iPhone 15 Pro and newer models. This follows Apple's trend of adding new default apps, such as Image Playground in iOS 18.2.
