iOS 27 Leaks: Apple's Wallet Upgrade and AI Features Revealed

Apple is reportedly preparing four new features for iOS 27, including overdue upgrades to Apple Wallet and Visual Intelligence. Developer Nicolás Alvarez discovered the features in backend code, with MacRumors confirming the findings ahead of WWDC in June.

Visual Intelligence will gain two new capabilities: scanning nutrition labels to track ingredients in the Health app and digitizing business cards to automatically add contacts. Safari may receive an AI feature that automatically names tab groups based on their contents. The most anticipated addition is Apple Wallet support for converting physical passes to digital versions, allowing users to scan gym memberships, event tickets, and rewards cards.

This Wallet feature addresses a long-standing gap, as third-party apps have offered similar functionality for years with mixed results. Google Wallet added comparable capabilities in August 2024. The upgrades suggest Apple is expanding its AI integration across core apps while finally delivering features users have requested for years. With WWDC approaching, these leaks provide the clearest picture yet of Apple's iOS 27 roadmap.
