Apple is set to unveil the iPad mini 8 this week, featuring a new OLED display and the A20 Pro chip with 12GB RAM, a first for the mini line. The device will offer vibrant colors, improved contrast, and a brighter screen, though a 120Hz ProMotion display remains uncertain. Bloomberg reports a potential starting price of $799, up from $599, possibly with 256GB base storage.
The A20 Pro delivers roughly 60% faster multi-core CPU performance and 166% better GPU performance than the A17 Pro, enabling on-device Siri AI enhancements. Apple is also developing water resistance through a redesigned chassis and speakers, potentially making this the first water-resistant iPad mini.
Accessory recommendations include the Anker Ultra-Slim Mag Safe Battery Pack, AirPods Pro 3 with dual ANC, and Logitech MX Master 4. The article notes FTC affiliate disclosures. Pre-order details and full specifications are expected at the upcoming event.
