Apple released the third developer beta of iOS 27 on the Settings app, replacing beta 2. The new build lands on iPhones that qualify for the Apple Developer Program and is slated for a public beta later this month, with a stable release scheduled for the fall.

iOS 27 centers on Siri AI, powered by Apple Intelligence and new Foundation Models. The assistant exchanges richer conversations, pulls personal context, displays on‑screen awareness, and triggers deeper app actions. Visual Intelligence powers a new Camera‑mode Siri and a dedicated app that syncs across devices. The Dynamic Island now hosts a fresh visual experience for the assistant.

Apple pushes AI to Photos, Safari, Mail, Messages, Shortcuts, Home, and more. Some functions run on‑device; others use Private Cloud Compute. The most advanced on‑device model demands iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air, while the base model runs on iPhone 11 and newer, including SE 2.

Beyond AI, iOS 27 tweaks the Liquid Glass UI with a transparency slider, boosts app launch speed, Photo loading, Camera launch in Low Power Mode, AirDrop transfers, and Wi‑Fi‑to‑cellular handoffs. New features include photo keywords, star ratings, custom slideshows, FaceTime Dual Capture, AirPods EQ, AI‑generated wallpapers, and easier Apple Pay card switching. Consumers gain smoother performance and deeper AI integration, while developers face a complex hardware landscape.
