Apple is rolling out iOS 26.4 with two new ways to customize the Liquid Glass design on iPhone. The update introduces Reduce Bright Effects and expands Reduce Motion to give users more control over visual elements that some find distracting or uncomfortable.

Reduce Bright Effects is a brand-new toggle that minimizes flashing and highlighting when interacting with Liquid Glass UI elements like buttons and the keyboard. Users can find it in Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size. The existing Reduce Motion feature has been enhanced to more reliably reduce animations for users sensitive to screen motion, addressing complaints from those who updated to iOS 26.

These additions come as Apple reportedly plans to introduce a slider for Liquid Glass customization in iOS 27. Until then, iOS 26.4 gives users immediate relief from the most jarring visual effects. The changes reflect growing feedback about the need for greater accessibility options in Apple's latest design language.
