Disney announced three new features today that further integrate Disney+ and Hulu services. The streaming giant continues its path toward merging the platforms, making it easier for users to access content across both apps. This move represents Disney's strategy to create a more cohesive streaming ecosystem while maintaining separate branding for now and addressing consumer demand for unified entertainment experiences.

The new features include Profile Linking, allowing Hulu subscribers to connect their profiles and bring watch history and recommendations to Disney+. Users can now stream all Hulu content through the Disney+ app without needing a separate Disney+ account via unified MyDisney login. Hulu avatars are now available in the Disney+ app alongside existing Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars-themed options.

Disney confirmed no current plans to sunset the Hulu app despite these integration steps. However, with these changes and the rumored Disney+ "super app" on the horizon, a complete merger appears increasingly likely. The company will soon test a Live Guide feature inspired by Hulu to help users find live content like ABC News Live and ESPN networks across platforms.
